That's my thought as well. If it gets to the point of quitting GW for GW2, convert it all into stuff that can be transferred through the Hall of Monuments.

Do not mistake the moment of GW2 release with GW1 death. It's going to last long long years after that, there will still be hardcore fans and casual players and even new players coming to the game. And as long as there will be players playing, the virtual goods we have will remain valuable.

I'm more then sure I will have used them all by that time. More or less a worthless thing for someone that does not deal with the inflation market or believe in wasting money on armors that have no benefit to them beyond the cosmetic.

I have around 200 ecto saved up from farming over the years. have yet to have a reason to use 1. I may get a set of chaos gloves or something someday. IDK. maybe, maybe not. I just can not find it in me to care one way or another when the others in the game are so obsessed about how much you have compared to them and farm to boredom in order to try to surpass some number, instead of playing for the enjoyment of playing.

I was thinking about this very thing tonight. This is probably one of the more depressing things that I have seen in my online life. To see something like GW die a slow and painful death. Even now it seems like people are slowly trickling away from GW, and all our accomplishments and all the lore we established will be for nuaght.

Anyhoo - Probably what I'll do is get up to the 400k mark becuase I'm saving all my money at that rate. Then splurge an 15K armor and minipets, and anything else to fill my HoM's so I can transfer to my GW2 characters.

Though, really, that will be a while before I would throw my stuff away like that. I just hope that they don't shut down the servers overnight so that people have enough warning ahead of time to do that kind of thing.

Just buy FoW armor for all of your characters and add it to the Hall of Monuments, then you at least have something left in GW2.
